Celebrating the creaky creepy old BBC Ghost Stories for Christmas, we take on everything from vengeful spirits to cruising round the signal box after dark. Poor Stephen is terrified by the thought of life when TV channels ended at midnight, not to mention the hurdy gurdy, whilst Martin is offering petit fores and Jonathan Butler keeps pulling the rug out from under us with revelatory plot twists! The Bird With The Crystal Plumage is a taut, stylish thriller with not one but TWO queer characters - but how did this product of its time aimed at a macho audience stand up to an LGBT grilling in 2017? Patty McCormack plays pigtailed sociopath Rhoda Penmark, the perfect little girl who will do anything to get what she wants. Whilst showering her parents with a ‘basket of kisses’ she’s also murdering anyone who gets in her way. Almost impossibly camp and yet imbued with heart and terrific performances, The Bad Seed has to be seen to be believed, with a controversial ending that packs a mighty punch. Spoilers ahoy. After that we're running from nothing with Marky Mark in M Night Shyamalan's notorious crapfest, The Happening. Is it a misunderstood eco-horror throwback to the B-movies of yesteryear? When it comes to camp horror, they don't come much camper than Joan Crawford as an axe-murderer who refuses to age gracefully in Strait Jacket. The combination of a bona fide Hollywood diva clinging desperately to her career, and schlock-meister William Castle, not to mention a pulpy script by Robert Bloch, was never going to be dull. So hear all about the trash epic that is Strait Jacket, and hear us bitch about the behind the scenes shenanigans of a true gay icon who was so fierce she could give all your favourite villains a run for their money!

Screaming Queenz Ep 45 - The Greasy Strangler!

This one's for all the Hootie Tootie Disco Cuties! Gross-out horror comedy The Greasy Strangler has become a modern cult classic and a staple of stoned, drunken party viewing. Endlessly quotable, mainly disgusting, surreal and downright stupid. You either love it, or you hate it. And it divided the room for us! Hear us thrash it out over whether this film is a work of genius or toilet humour of the worst kind!
